01The Day

The way it felt.

Padua Hills Theatre sits in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, an old Spanish theatre wrapped in olive and oak groves that go gold in the late light. Kelsey and Zach's day belonged to those trees.

It had an unhurried, romantic warmth: a ceremony under the oaks, portraits in the grove as the sun dropped behind the ridgeline, and a bride who lit up every frame. We filmed it patiently, chasing the light through the branches, and let the old grove do what it does best.

02Filming at Padua Hills Theatre

On Padua Hills Theatre.

Padua Hills Theatre is a historic 1930 Spanish Colonial theatre set in the foothills above Claremont, in the olive and oak groves at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains. It is one of the most atmospheric venues in the Los Angeles area, terracotta and white stucco, brick garden paths, and a canopy of mature trees strung with light, all of it backed by the mountains. The late-afternoon sun pours through the grove and turns everything amber, which is exactly why we plan every Padua Hills Theatre wedding film around that last golden hour among the trees. If you are marrying here, we know exactly where the light falls.
