Gina and Jeff were married at Scripps Seaside Forum, on the bluff at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, with the pier running out into the ocean below the lawn.
That evening they went down to the waterline, with the sun low on the horizon behind them.
Notes on the bluff.
The Forum is a modern building of warm wood and glass, and its lawn runs west to the edge of the bluff with nothing between it and the horizon. The bluff is exposed to wind and surf, so the vows go on close microphones. Inside, a floor-to-ceiling glass wall faces the ocean and backlights the room until dark.
