An oak canyon, held close.

Notes from filming at Los Willows Wedding Estate: the canyon ceremony under old oaks, how the grounds hold light into the evening, and the film we made there.

Notes on the light

Los Willows sits down inside an oak canyon outside Temecula, and the land itself does most of the design work. Old oaks shade the ceremony space well into the afternoon, which gives us usable, soft light later in the day than most outdoor venues in the area manage, and it means a couple is not fighting harsh midday sun for their vows.

The spaces, and how they film

The Canyon Ceremony Site. A stone path runs down between rows of white folding chairs to a simple draped arch under the oak canopy. It is quiet and enclosed in a way that reads as intimate on camera even at a full guest count.

The Reception Grounds. Open lawn built to carry string lights and a reception that runs late, with enough room between the canyon walls that the evening never feels boxed in.

The film, so far

We have made one film here so far: Alex & Bri, a canyon ceremony under the oaks followed by a reception that opened with the whole room on its feet.

Filming here

Because the canyon holds shade, a Los Willows wedding can run later into the afternoon than most outdoor Temecula venues without losing light quality. We use that extra window for portraits, since the canyon's filtered light is some of the most flattering we get all year.

Questions, answered

Have you filmed a wedding at Los Willows Wedding Estate before?

Yes. Alex and Bri's wedding film was made there, in the oak canyon ceremony space, and you can watch it on this page.

Is Los Willows a private, exclusive-use property?

Yes, it is a private estate rather than a shared venue, which means no other event or crew on site during your wedding.

Do you travel to Temecula for weddings?

Yes. We film throughout Southern California including Temecula and the surrounding wine country, and we are happy to talk through travel details for your date.

How late can a reception run at an outdoor property like this?

Los Willows is built for an evening reception with string lighting across the open lawn, so a later end time works well here, more so than at venues without dedicated evening infrastructure.

Planning notes, and the minimums

Checked July 2026

Los Willows publishes a clear price and a clear guest minimum, and the minimum changes every day of the week. Pick your day before you pick anything else, because it moves the floor under your whole budget.

Package
A full ceremony and reception starts around fifteen thousand off peak and eighteen thousand at peak. Couples commonly report landing near forty thousand all in once catering, guest count and upgrades are settled. 2026 rate
Guest minimum by day
Fifty Monday to Wednesday. Seventy five on Thursday. One hundred on Friday and Sunday. One hundred and twenty-five on Saturday. A ninety guest wedding is a Thursday wedding here, or it is a Saturday wedding billed for a hundred and twenty-five.
Capacity
Both ceremony sites, the lakeside lawn and the secluded meadow, seat two hundred and fifty. The pavilion seats the same, and it is heated and air cooled, which is what makes a summer or winter date workable here.
Where it is
The estate is in Fallbrook, in north San Diego County, a short drive south of Temecula. Worth knowing for guest travel and hotels, since couples often find it through Temecula.
The boat
The estate offers a private ride on the lake with champagne after the ceremony. It is a real thing they do, not a brochure line.
Curfew
Not published. Confirm it, as both ceremony sites and the pavilion are outdoors or open sided.
What the boat gives us
That boat ride is the most useful ten minutes on the property. It is the only moment in the day when the two of you are genuinely alone and nobody is watching, and it happens on open water with the light coming off it. We film it from the bank on a long lens and stay out of the boat, because the point is that it does not feel staged. Most of the quiet footage couples remember from here comes from those ten minutes.

Package pricing, guest minimums by day and seated capacities as published by Los Willows Wedding Estate and its marketplace listings, checked July 2026. The estate puts no end time in public. Ask for yours in writing along with the quote.
