Jan and Brian were married at Montage Laguna Beach. The frame this film is held on has the two of them on the sand below the bluff in the last hour of light, Brian behind Jan, the coastline running behind them. The film opens on her ring, gets down to the water, lifts over the rocks off the point, and ends at a long table of guests in the evening.

The bluff gives you two films in one afternoon. Up top the lawns face open water, so every wide shot carries the horizon and every face carries backlight. Down on the sand the light goes warm in the last half hour and holds, which is where this film keeps its portrait. The aerial in this film reads the rock shelf off the point in a way the ramp never shows you, which is why the drone comes to this venue even for a short film.
