Jonathan and Breanna were married at Serendipity Garden Weddings, on the mountain slope above the valley in Oak Glen. The frame we kept coming back to is the two of them close together with the sun flaring between them, the wooded slope holding one side and the rolling hills running out behind. That is the property doing the work.
The film runs six minutes and eighteen seconds. That length is a choice rather than a default: enough room to let the quiet parts sit at their own pace, and short enough that it still plays end to end on an ordinary evening years from now.

Serendipity sits at around 4,700 feet in the San Bernardino Mountains, and the venue puts its summer temperatures about ten degrees cooler than the valley below. The gardens, rather than the widest views, are the best portrait ground on the property, because the planting gives you edges to shape a frame with. Bring a longer lens than you think you need and stay back. The place reads better at distance than up close.
