A private gate, and a desert evening.

Notes on the light

Old Polo Estate is a gated, private property in Indio built around its own polo grounds, cactus gardens, and a long palm-lined entry drive. Because it is fully private, there is no other event or crew anywhere on the grounds during your wedding, which is not something every Coachella Valley venue can offer.

The spaces, and how they film

The Entry Drive. A palm-lined drive leading in from the gate, which we use for exactly the kind of walking shot every desert wedding wants, gold light coming through the palm fronds late in the day.

The Grounds. Cactus gardens and open lawn surround the estate, giving a reception genuine desert character rather than a resort's version of it.

The film, so far

We have made one film here so far: Andrew & Angelique, a private-estate wedding built around a warm Coachella Valley evening.

Filming here

Desert venues run hot most of the year, so we plan coverage around early evening rather than midday, when the palms throw long shadows across the drive and the whole property turns gold. A later ceremony time also means cooler, more comfortable conditions for you and your guests.

Questions, answered

Have you filmed a wedding at Old Polo Estate before?

Yes. Andrew and Angelique's wedding film was made there, and you can watch it on this page.

Is Old Polo Estate a private, exclusive-use property?

Yes. It is a gated private estate rather than a shared venue, so no other event or crew is on site during your wedding.

What time of year is best for an Indio wedding?

Cooler months, roughly October through April, are the most comfortable for guests. If you are marrying in summer, we recommend an evening ceremony time to avoid the peak desert heat.

Do you travel to the Coachella Valley for weddings?

Yes. We are a Los Angeles based studio and travel throughout Southern California, including the Coachella Valley, for weddings.

Planning notes, and who you must hire

Checked July 2026

Old Polo is a private estate you take over rather than a venue you book a room in, and the estate has firm views about your vendor team. Two of its rules will add to your budget before you have chosen a single flower.

Capacity
Up to two hundred guests for an event. Overnight, the main house sleeps around twenty, rising to roughly sixty once the casitas and Airstreams are counted.
A planner is mandatory
The estate requires a professional wedding planner engaged one to three months ahead, and it explicitly does not accept day of only coordination. If you were planning to run the day yourself, this venue removes that option.
Vendor rules
You may bring your preferred vendors, but DJs must come from an approved list and bartenders must be licensed and insured in California. Worth checking your DJ against that list before you book them.
How the price behaves
Because much of the cost is the estate itself rather than a per head charge, the cost per guest falls steeply as numbers rise. Third party modelling puts it near two hundred and seventy a head at seventy five guests and around one hundred at two hundred. A small wedding here is expensive per person. 2026 estimate
Typically included
Listings describe packages covering venue rental, furniture, accommodation, rentals and cleaning, with tax, service charge and gratuity inside the figure rather than added afterwards.
On the grounds
A pool and spa, outdoor kitchen and bar, fire pits, event lawns, a three hole golf course, pickleball and volleyball. No pets, and no smoking outside the designated parking areas.
What staying over changes
When the wedding party sleeps on site, the day has no travel in it. Getting ready happens in rooms a two minute walk from the ceremony, nobody is stuck in a car on Highway 111, and the morning after is still part of the film if you want it to be. We usually add a short second morning session at estates like this, because the footage you get over coffee the day after is unguarded in a way nothing on the wedding day ever is.

Capacity, sleeping numbers, the planner requirement, vendor rules and the grounds are from Old Polo Estate’s own FAQ, read July 2026. Pricing is not published by the estate; the per head figures are one marketplace’s model and are labelled as such. No event end time is published. Confirm all of it with the estate.
