Vows under a rose-covered arch on a Malibu mountaintop, olive trees catching the last of the light, and a reception toast that had the whole tent laughing.
The way it felt.
They were married under a rose-and-eucalyptus arch with the Santa Monica Mountains standing behind them, Leah's ring going on while her bridesmaids in soft champagne tones watched from just off to the side.
Speeches ran long that night, the good kind, toasts that had tables of guests turning to look at each other and laugh. We kept the camera on the people talking and the people listening in equal measure.
On Cielo Farms.
Cielo Farms sits on a mountaintop above Malibu, olive groves and panoramic views in every direction, and it is one of the most dramatic backdrops we film against all year. The elevation means the light shifts fast up there, soft in the afternoon and then sharp and golden right before sunset, so timing the ceremony against that window matters more here than almost anywhere else we shoot.
