01The Day

The way it felt.

Andrew got ready under the redwoods that morning, and their first look happened right there among the olive trees, Martha laughing before he'd even finished turning around.

The rest of the day stayed outdoors almost entirely, which is exactly what this property rewards. We kept the film close to the two of them and let the ranch's redwoods and open grounds carry the wider shots.

02Filming at Calamigos Ranch

On Calamigos Ranch.

Calamigos Ranch sits in Malibu Canyon, a working ranch turned event property with redwood groves, olive trees, and a lake at its center. It is one of the most genuinely rustic venues we shoot in Los Angeles, real wood and real trees rather than a designed approximation of them, and the canyon holds cool, filtered light well into the afternoon even on a hot Malibu day.

QWedding Film & Video, Answered
Do you film weddings at Calamigos Ranch?

Yes. We've filmed at Calamigos Ranch and know the property, from where the light is best to how the day moves from ceremony to reception. As a Malibu wedding videographer we plan the coverage around the venue itself, so the film feels specific to where you got married, not generic.

How much does a Malibu wedding videographer cost?

Our wedding films range from $6,000 for The Moment to $10,000 for The Legacy, our most complete collection. Every collection includes a full cinematic wedding film plus a custom wedding website. You can see everything on our Collections page.

How soon do we get our wedding film?

Your full cinematic wedding film is delivered in about 8 to 12 weeks. Our two larger collections, The Portrait and The Legacy, also include a shorter teaser, delivered sooner so you have something to share while the full film is edited.

Is there a difference between a wedding film and a wedding video?

We'd say yes. A wedding video is a record of what happened. A wedding film is edited with intention, pacing, and your actual vows and speeches woven through it, so it plays more like a short film than a highlight reel. That's what we make.

Will we notice you during the day?

Barely, and that's the point. We film the day as it actually unfolds rather than staging it, staying close but out of the way, so you're present for your wedding instead of performing for a camera. Most couples tell us they forgot we were filming until they watched the film back.
