Josh & Shayna
A bluff above the water, and the sun going straight down into it. Sound on.

Straight west.
Josh and Shayna were married in Newport Beach, and the film ends where the coast does: the two of them on the bluff with the sun dropping into open water behind them.
A west-facing shore gives you a long, generous last hour rather than the abrupt cut you get at a venue with hills behind it. We built their portrait time to sit right inside it.
Notes on the light.
The Orange County coast points west into open ocean, and that single fact makes it one of the most forgiving places in Southern California to film a wedding. There is nothing to take the sun early, so the golden hour genuinely lasts an hour and falls off slowly rather than vanishing. The thing to plan around instead is the middle of the day, when a beach or bluff gives you no shade at all and light comes straight down. We put portraits at the end of the day here almost every time.
