The way it felt.
Pelican Hill is a Mediterranean village dropped onto 504 acres of the Newport Coast, and its centerpiece is a rotunda perched three hundred feet above the ocean. Rahul and Prianka's day used all of it, and the color they brought turned the whole palette warm.
It moved with a big, generous joy: family everywhere, a lawn full of people, and an ocean horizon that never left the frame. We filmed it close and unhurried, and let the architecture and the Pacific carry the wide shots.
On Pelican Hill.
The Resort at Pelican Hill sits on the Newport Coast, a Mediterranean village of 504 acres where Italian Renaissance architecture meets the Southern California shoreline. The Rotunda is the signature: a domed, colonnaded pavilion at the end of an oval event lawn, ringed by century-old olive trees and rows of lavender, with a hundred and eighty degrees of open Pacific behind it. Because the resort hosts a single wedding a day and the event lawn sits apart from the hotel, the whole ridge feels private. We plan every Pelican Hill wedding film around the last hour of sun on that lawn, when the ocean goes silver and the columns throw long shadow.
