01The Day

Valley light.

Seth and Kate were married in Kingsburg, on the valley floor where Fresno County runs out into vineyard and orchard. The frame we kept is the two of them laughing on mown grass late in the day, a white gabled building behind them, the sun low enough to come in flat across the lawn and flare straight into the lens.

That flare is the valley signature. With no ridge to drop the sun early, the last light comes in almost horizontally across the grass, straight down the lens if you let it.

02Filming at Kingsburg

Notes on Kingsburg.

Kingsburg sits at about 300 feet on the floor of the San Joaquin Valley, on the Kings River, about twenty miles southeast of Fresno. There is no terrain in any direction, which changes how you plan a day here. The sun does not drop behind a ridge, it goes all the way down to a flat horizon, so golden hour is long and the last light comes in almost level. Valley haze does the rest, softening the disc enough that you can shoot into it. Two practical notes: summer afternoons on open lawn are genuinely hot, so we build in shade, and from November into March tule fog can sit on the valley for days, which flattens everything and makes an indoor plan worth having.

QWedding Film & Video, Answered
Do you film weddings in Kingsburg?

Yes. Seth and Kate's film was made there, and we travel into the Central Valley regularly. Kingsburg is worth knowing for one reason in particular: it sits on flat ground with nothing to block the west, so the sun sets onto an open horizon rather than behind a hill. That gives you a longer, lower golden hour than most California wedding locations, and it is why the portrait window here can be planned to the minute. Tell us the date and the property and we will tell you when that light lands.

How much does a wedding videographer cost?

Our collections run from $6,000 for The Moment to $10,000 for The Legacy, our most complete collection. Each one is a full cinematic wedding film of your day plus a custom wedding website. Everything is set out on our Collections page.

When do we get our wedding film?

About 8 to 12 weeks for the full film. The Portrait and The Legacy also include a shorter teaser, delivered sooner, so you have something to share while the main edit is still running.

Will we notice you during the day?

Barely. We film the day as it happens rather than staging it, staying close but out of the way. Most couples tell us afterwards that they forgot anyone was filming.
