Seth & Kate
Seth and Kate, in the farm country south of Fresno. Seven minutes. Sound on.

Valley light.
Seth and Kate were married in Kingsburg, on the valley floor where Fresno County runs out into vineyard and orchard. The frame we kept is the two of them laughing on mown grass late in the day, a white gabled building behind them, the sun low enough to come in flat across the lawn and flare straight into the lens.
That flare is the valley signature. With no ridge to drop the sun early, the last light comes in almost horizontally across the grass, straight down the lens if you let it.
Notes on Kingsburg.
Kingsburg sits at 302 feet on the floor of the San Joaquin Valley, on the Kings River, about twenty-one miles from Fresno. There is no terrain in any direction, which changes how you plan a day here. The sun does not drop behind a ridge, it goes all the way down to a flat horizon, so golden hour is long and the last light comes in almost level. Valley haze does the rest, softening the disc enough that you can shoot into it. Two practical notes: summer afternoons on open lawn are genuinely hot, so we build in shade, and from November into March tule fog can sit on the valley for days, which flattens everything and makes an indoor plan worth having.
