Notes on the light
This property's ceremony garden is built around a stacked-rock waterfall, which is a genuinely useful thing to film against. It gives every ceremony here a strong, specific focal point without needing much in the way of added florals, and the sound of moving water fills in a courtyard that would otherwise be quiet during the vows.
The spaces, and how they film
The Waterfall Garden. A tiered rock waterfall anchors the ceremony space, with seating arranged so guests face both the officiant and the water feature behind. It photographs and films distinctly, not like a generic hotel lawn.
The Colonnade. Indoors, brick archways and columns carry a reception well past sunset without losing warmth, useful in the Conejo Valley hills where the evening temperature drops fast once the sun is down.
The film, so far
We have made two films here so far: Alano & Alla, a waterfall ceremony followed by a reception that closed with a cake-cutting kiss neither of them got through without laughing, and Garrison & Meredith, married in the gardens in November when the light comes in low across the borders.
Filming here
Because the ceremony garden sits in a hillside setting, afternoon light filters through unevenly depending on the season. We scout the exact ceremony time against sun position in advance rather than defaulting to a standard slot, so the waterfall and the couple are both properly lit rather than one in shadow.

What makes this ceremony space different from a typical hotel lawn?+
The waterfall. Most hotel ceremony lawns need florals and structure to feel finished; this one has a genuine architectural feature built in, which changes how we frame the wide shots.
Do you travel to Westlake Village for weddings?+
Yes. We are based in Los Angeles and film throughout the region, and Westlake Village sits comfortably within our regular range.
Can the reception run late here?+
Yes. The brick colonnade spaces are built for an evening that runs well past sunset, and they hold warmth on camera even after the outdoor light is gone.

Planning notes, and the room

This is one of the largest ballrooms we film anywhere in the region, and it comes with a catering rule that is unusual for a hotel at this level. Both are worth knowing before you shortlist it.
- The Grand Ballroom
- Eleven thousand six hundred square feet, eighty eight by one hundred and thirty-two, under a fourteen foot ceiling. Six hundred and twenty-four seated with a dance floor, seven hundred and twenty on rounds without one, and just under a thousand standing. A guest list that size usually has to be split across two rooms. Here it does not.
- Catering
- The hotel’s own kitchen handles it. The documented exception is kosher: the property has a dedicated kosher kitchen beside the ballroom and a long standing arrangement with a specialist kitchen, which has been used for weddings serving several hundred. If your family needs a cuisine the house cannot cover, ask about it specifically rather than assuming a general outside caterer policy, and expect a fee.
- Rental and minimum
- Neither is published. Aggregators model this property into six figures on assumptions we cannot see. Ask the hotel for your own date.
- How late it runs
- Not published. Worth confirming, though an enclosed hotel ballroom generally gives you a later finish than an outdoor site of the same size.
- What a room that size means
- A room this big is a lighting problem before it is anything else. At six hundred guests the far tables sit a long way from any practical source, so we light for the couple and the dance floor and let the depth of the room fall away rather than trying to fill it. The covered outdoor walkways are the counterweight. They hold warmth on camera after the sky has gone, which is where we take you between dinner and the party.
Ballroom dimensions and capacities are the hotel’s own published figures for Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village, read July 2026. Note that the widely repeated line about a thousand guests without a dance floor is a standing figure, not a seated one. The kosher kitchen arrangement is documented in local press and guest reviews rather than on the hotel’s wedding pages. Nothing is published on site fees, minimums or the end time, and we would rather this section have a gap in it than an estimate dressed up as a figure. Confirm all of it with the hotel.
