Vows exchanged inside a former 1876 cathedral, candlelight and marble columns holding the whole room in shadow and gold, and a bride who teared up before the ceremony even began.
The way it felt.
Angelia teared up before the ceremony even started, and Austin watched her come down the aisle of the old nave with candlelight doing most of the work on both their faces.
Vibiana's Main Hall holds a wedding the way a cathedral holds a service, real gravity in the room, and we shot it the way we always do here, wide and locked from the back of the nave, then close on faces with long lenses once the vows began.
On Vibiana.
Vibiana is a former 1876 cathedral in downtown Los Angeles, and it remains one of the most cinematic rooms we film in the city. The old nave holds candlelight and shadow with genuine weight, and when the night moves out to the courtyard, the downtown skyline becomes the backdrop. We have now filmed two weddings here, and both nights proved out the same thing: this room does not need much help to look extraordinary on camera.
