01The Day

Under the palms.

Colin and Michele were married at the Bel-Air Bay Club in Pacific Palisades, and their portraits were made on the upper lawn with the sun already low enough to come in flat beneath the palms.

Theirs is one of the shorter films here, under four minutes, built almost entirely around that last stretch of afternoon.

02Filming at Bel-Air Bay Club

Notes on the place.

The palms on the upper lawn at Bel-Air Bay Club are the thing to plan around, because they only work for about half an hour. While the sun is high they cast hard shadows across everyone's faces. Once it drops below the fronds it comes through horizontally instead, lighting the trunks and the grass and the couple all at once. Miss that window and the same lawn photographs like any other lawn.

QWedding Film & Video, Answered
Do you film weddings at Bel-Air Bay Club?

Yes. Colin and Michele's wedding film was made there, and you can watch it on this site. Having filmed a place once means we already know how it behaves through the day rather than working it out on the morning.

How much does a wedding videographer cost?

Our collections run from $6,000 for The Moment to $10,000 for The Legacy, our most complete collection. Each one is a full cinematic wedding film of your day plus a custom wedding website. Everything is set out on our Collections page.

When do we get our wedding film?

About 8 to 12 weeks for the full film. The Portrait and The Legacy also include a shorter teaser, delivered sooner, so you have something to share while the main edit is still running.

Will we notice you during the day?

Barely. We film the day as it happens rather than staging it, staying close but out of the way. Most couples tell us afterwards that they forgot anyone was filming.
