01The Day

The way it felt.

They walked the garden path together in the late afternoon, an enormous gnarled oak standing over them and ivy covering the ground on both sides. Quiet and unhurried, the way the best portrait windows usually are.

The father-daughter dance happened at dusk with string lights already lit overhead and the tables pulled in close around them. It was a private property rather than a commercial venue, and the whole evening moved at its own pace because of it.

In Kingsburg.

This was a private property in Kingsburg rather than a bookable commercial venue, so we are keeping the details general here instead of describing it as though anyone could reserve the same garden. What we can say is that the century oaks and ivy grounds gave the day genuine character, and if you are planning a private-property wedding in the Central Valley, we would love to talk through what your own land or family property offers.
